What is the philosophy for someone inventing "DUCK TAPE?"?

I think its called duck tape cause it sounds like a duck when you take it off the role

Duck tape is more correctly referred to as "duct tape," it's original and more correct name. It was originally developed for the sole purpose of repairing ducts.

Eventually, the "duct tape" became slurred into "duck tape," the name several people know it by today. One popular brand of duct tape has even picked up on that and is "Duck Tape" brand duct tape.

I understand what you mean though, ducks aren't even involved with Duct tape in any way. My friend actually owns a roll of duct tape in his garage, with the phrase 'shut the duck up' on it :/

I imagine that theirs is a humorous philosophy, and also an entrepreneurial one. Besides that, you misapprehend the purpose of this product. It isn't for holding feathers on, it is for taping ducks together and, more importantly, their beaks shut. No one wants to listen to a duck philosophize. They tend to be impertinent.
