Opinions on Skate America Ice Dance and Mens Results?

Haha, yeah, I thought it was funny about the Ontario thing. (:

I was at the rink teaching Learn To Skate and then at the skating pro shop (haha no suprise :P I got two new dresses though!) for about 4 hours, so I didn't get to watch it on tv, and we forgot to ask my dad to record it. :( so YouTube it is after I'm done typing all this...

No suprise with Davis and White or Pechalat and Bourzat. I expected Hubbell and Donohue to end up about in the middle like that, no big upsets like that.

Armin Mahbanoozadeh (I got the spelling right without having to look it up!) and Richard Dornbusg are the only skaters I've watched of all them, but I've heard of most of the rest. I had expected Armin to place better, but with that freeskate, you can't expect any other result. I've heard that Brazina and Van der Perren are good, so not a huge suprise when I saw that they were on top. Again, I didn't watch it yet, so I'll have to go watch all the skaters now. I heard Douglas Razzano, the third American, had a pretty exciting program, and its his birthday today, but he didn't place well either, not a suprise since he isn't that experienced on the international stage. Too bad Lysacek didn't compete, apparently he withdrew b/c he and USFS 'couldn't come to a suitable agreement in time for the competition deadline'. He would have definitely medalled (assuming he would have had a clean program) if he hadn't been asking for more money.... Anyways, too bad.

I have no clue for ladies, its pretty much anyone's for grabs if the men's was any show. I just hope there's more clean skates than the men.

Again, no big predictions for pairs, I don't follow pairs very much anyways.

I'm happy that Michal won, I thought he skated great and I personally liked his skating. I'm unhappy about Van der Perren's spins, it was embarrassing to see such a high level skater spin so slowly. Otherwise, I feel the results were pretty fair on the mens!

No surprise with Davis and White!!! They are like, on a class of their own! The one ice dance pair that can match up to them is Virtue and Moir. As far as the men, hmmmm... I sort of think that Van Der Perren was overscored. His spins are really slow.

For pairs, the German pair is going to do get the gold for sure. I'm really hoping Alissa Czisny will win the gold and Carolina Kostner the silver. I'm betting the bronze on Haruka Imai.
