Order is still "awaiting fulfillment"?

So I ordered something online around 10 days ago and it is still marked as "awaiting fulfillment". What does this mean? Has it been shipped already?

    Fulfillment means completing an order. Awaiting means it hasn't.

    They could be out of stock.
