In light of the Wall Street protests where several women were topless in public...?
I would like to ask this question again.
Should women have the same rights as men? I don't mean equal pay for equal work.
What I do mean is over the past few years a group of individuals who support Top Freedom have been supporting the notion that Indecent Exposure laws are discriminatory. That women should have the right to go topless in the same areas that men can.
Those who support top freedom state that breasts are not sexual objects and therefore are not indecent if exposed. The only purpose for the breast is for feeding the young.
I have asked those who say breasts are not sexual objects people to deny that they take their tops of first when they are being romantic with their significant other to which I never have received a reply However save that for another time.
So what say you all. Are breasts sexual objects and should women be allowed to be topless in public at the same places men are topless.
Note: I rarely take my top off in public and I am a man.
Alesha, I am a big proponent of breast cancer in men as my best friend in the whole world died from breast cancer. So I am well aware that a mans breast has the same connections as a women's breast. But I want to thank you for point that out to everyone.

They are no more sexual objects than a mans boobs. Anatomically women have exactly the same nervous connections in their breasts as men do and that is a fact. It stimulates the same zones. If you think I'm kidding then twist your nipple a couple of times an tell me what else in your body lights up when you do. As for being allowed to go topless that depends. On a beach that is three miles long and several hundred yards wide, where most of the time the nearest person is at least 50 yards away and many times just spec in the distance, I'd say yes. Especially since skin is usually in abundance on beaches anyway. Walking through the mall or down main street in front of God and everybody, no way.

I think that both sexes should refrain from being topless in public. It would be healthier and more dignified for both. By keeping your top half out of public sight this way ,you also express that you care about the sensibilities and feelings of others.
Then there is the danger of skin cancer. The more you are exposed to strong sunlight, the higher the danger becomes. Covering up makes sense whether one is male or female! Another thing too,any exposed parts should be protected by sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.
Anyone who knows the pain of sunburn knows that it would be foolish to go about topless anyway.Sunburn can lead to skin cancer, not a nice outcome. It is no trouble to put on a t-shirt and a pair of sunglasses. Putting on Sunscreen only takes a short while. These small sensible efforts do a great deal of good and prevent a lot of trouble.
Some men are very' turned on' by the sight of breasts, regardless of normal physical function. It seems to be cultural. In Papua-New Guinea, breasts are not an issue, but bare female thighs drive some men wild!

While I appreciate female breasts, I don't think they should be on public display. Some of them are not exactly enchanting.
