First, in the original equation, divide by a common denominator: -4a

    This gives you a^2 - 3a - 10

You can either use the quadratic formula here, or you can factor it out yourself. If you factor it yourself, you come up with:

    (x - 5)(x + 2)

Then, you set each quantity = 0

    x-5 = 0

    and

    x+2 = 0

This gives your answers to be x= -2, 5

    Hope this helps!
