Pure Reflection of a wave returns the wave with the same amplitude and frequency and as the source wave. The direction of reflection will be the negative of the angle of approach relative to the line perpendicular to the reflecting surface.
Refraction of a wave is a bending of a wave around an obstacle. Frequency usually remains the same but amplitude may vary with distance from the impingement point.
Diffraction is the result of different frequency's characteristic velocity through a medium. Diffraction is used to separate frequencies from each other if the original signal is the result of adding a multitude of waveforms together.
Interference is the result of adding of two or more waveforms. The frequency and amplitude of the resultant waveform may be known if the initial waveforms are known. interferences tend to appear as complex jumbles if the original waveforms have little in common in their original frequencies. The amplitudes may be at times much higher than the original individual amplitudes or much lower at other times due to constructive and destructive interference
