Play the role of the Angels GM?
Hey guys I’m curious to know what you would do if you were the GM of the Angels, who do you sign? They don’t have the money for a Pujols/Reyes/Fielder Etc. Who do you sign and why?
The team needs a solid starter maybe signed on a 1 year deal.
They need some bullpen help, maybe a closer but if not Walden should develop.
They need a power threat preferably at 3B. Only Ramirez is out there that fills that void but I’m not crazy about him.
If I’m the GM I try and sign a guy like Aaron Harrang to a 1 year deal. Also go after a guy like Joe Nathan who COULD close games out but doesn’t necessarily have to.
BQ: what is Vernon Wells average this year? Does it climb above .250? Or at least above his awful performance of .218 this year?

Not Nathan, his velocity is way down. I don't think he could be considered a closer anymore.
I think one player could make enough difference, then you don't need anyone else. A 3 year deal on KRod, would be what I would do.
You can't have an All Star at every position, so I would leave the rest. If I could bring in a player for1-2 years, I get Placido Polanco to play 3rd. Drop Abreu, he's declined to much...
BQ..Wells, I don't see why he couldn't hit .250....but who knows. Yeah, he should hit above .218.....

Trade Alberto, Chatwood, and Richards for David Wright.
Sign CJ Wilson, I know our need is hitting, but we get Wilson away from the Rangers and make our rotation the best in the AL if not in all of baseball.
Sign Ryan Madson, he can setup or close if Walden struggles.
1. Peter Bourjos CF
2. Howie Kendrick 2B
3. David Wright 3B
4. Kendrys Morales DH
5. Mark Trumbo 1B
6. Torii Hunter RF
7. Vernon Wells LF
8. Erick Aybar SS
9. Hank Conger C
1. Jered Weaver
2. Dan Haren
3. CJ Wilson
4. Ervin Santana
5. Jerome Williams
Scott Downs 7th inn.
Ryan Madson 8th inn.
Jordan Walden 9th inn.
BQ: Vernon will be fine this year, I expect .271 avg./ 32 HR/ 96 RBI

i think that as angels gm my number 1 priority would have to be pujols. i go after him hard. this is my lineup
1.Aybar SS-Gold glove winner, gonna be the spark like eck was.
2.Kendrick 2B-great hitter, he'll have another stellar year
3.Morales DH-to give him a little bit more rest for that leg
4.Pujols 1B-need i say anything?
5.Hunter RF-I know he will bounce back with the bat
6. Trumbo 3B-this would benefit the angels the most. he can make a transition to 3rd.
7.Wells LF- hopefully he comes around
8.Conger-please scos give conger a chance to be a starter. hes great and a switch hitter
9.Bourjos CF- great way to bring up the top of lineup when hes on base
have trout open season in salt lake just to be able to play everyday. If hunter fails to hit bench him call up Trout, Hunter is a great teamate and will be able to show trout and bourjos alot of stuff. If Morales and/or Wells cant hit the broad side of the barn, trade em for prospects anything. We took a stupid deal with Wells. look at how Nap came around. I always knew he was a great catcher. I was pissed when they traded him. i dont see morales having a huge impact like he did before his injury. a year and a half missed not seeing one pitch. he wont be the same. some team would take them two.

For your 1 year starter, I would sign Hiroki Kuroda of the Dodgers. He is a free agent, and is a workhorse who WILL pitch over 200 innings a season, even at the age of 39.
For the closer, I wouldn't go big and would try to sign a couple small closers such as Houston Street or Brandon League.
For 3rd base, I would bring in, not sure if this is his name, but I believe it was Brandon Wood? One of your top prospects.
