How can I attach a full size monitor to my Droid 2?

I would like to use a full size keyboard and monitor with my Droid 2 for internet browsing. I tested a product a while back that ran on the PC and got its internet access via a USB cable to the phone, but it wasn't very pleasant to use. Anything new out there, in software or hardware, that allows a better browsing experience on the Droid 2 using the full sized keyboard and monitor? I see there are newer 4G phones with some hardware and software combinations to make it better, but I'm not ready for a phone upgrade yet.

    The Android OS is based on Linux, so it should be possible to install it on a PC. Or take another Linux distribution and customize it to look like Android.
