I would take it to a shop so you know whats really wrong with it. it could be so many things wrong with it.

Number one on my check list would be fuel pressure. I believe on that engine it should be about 45 PSI KOEO ( Key on Engine off )
If the fuel pressure is up to snuff I would try starting the truck with a light pressure on the accelerator to rule out a IAC failure. If it starts but stalls when you let off the gas its a good chance that the IAC has failed.
While it is possible to have a ignition failure, its not likely without setting a code as this is a member of the modular family engine, and uses COP ( Coil on Plug ) ignition system.

Ok, just a word of advice, a fuse either works or it doesn't. It will not work sometimes and work some other day. When you are cranking it, is there any exhaust Coming out of the tail pipe? If you are turnin it for 5 seconds then giving it a brake then turning it over again and again ad again, you are flooding it big time. If there is exhaust coming out, you have fuel and spark. If not, check your coil going to the distributor, make sure the connections are tight and clean. The lower the voltage, the more corrosion you will get on a loose connection.

Start with fuel pressure and spark. See which one you don't have
