Fifty year ago, I spent several years in a rural area close to Frankfurt.?
It would appear that after World War 2, a regiment of USA troops was stationed near there and that many or most of the soldiers were of African-American decent. I remember observing quite a few children who appeared to be part black .I have always wondered how life has treated these
persons of mixed races. Are they now members of the German main steam? Has their colour been an obstacle?
Thank you JS for a fine answer RK

Why should they have a problem? They´re treated like everyone else (unless they get to meet some racist idiots, but those are everywhere and compared to the US we have even less of em in Germany...)
When their parents only f**ed once or broke up really fast, some people might call them names, claiming their mom would be a cheap person sleeping with any soldier coming to town or stuff like that, but a) people who do that are ignorant idiots, too and b) that has nothing to do with their skin color as kids of white American soldiers face the same problems.
Also some American soldiers either took their girlfriend and children back to America with them and many of em even stayed in Germany living here as any other family.
All in all, their skin color doesnt matter at all. There are other black or mixed people in Germany, too, and it doesnt matter what skin color someone has.
edit: my pleasure.
and i dont agree with the other post. I do consider them part of our society and if one gets the impression that they arent that´s their own problem, not the problem of black Germans, neither the problem of the people accepting them.
