Can the Dept. of Energy, Education, Social Security, Medicare, the Federal Reserve really be disolved?

All of the GOP/Tea party candidates have said they intend to do this...but can it really be done? I suspect the law suits would pile up for a generation wasting evey ones time. and when the 'conservatives' are voted out all of those things would be voted back in anyway. Wadda' 'ya think..in a practical way?

No one has the ability to sue the president over what he does in arranging the EOP (Executive office of the President). The Supreme Court has made it very clear that he is the main decision maker for the Executive branch and Congress cannot order him around. The Federal Reserve and Medicare/Social Security are different stories. It would be an epic battle with Congress. The Supreme Court would probably reprimand Congress if they did cut those programs while choosing not to rule on such a controversial and unpopular decision. Congress has the power to create and destroy as dictated in the Constitution. As a side note, the programs are going bankrupt either way.

They are making these crazy statements because their supporters like to hear that the federal government will eliminate departments and agencies which they feel help the poor or liberal minded people. But it takes an Act of Congress to make these changes and they seem to have a hard time agreeing on anything. If a Republican majority takes over the Senate then they can go ahead and work on these things. Presidents propose ideas but they can also veto what Congress does and it takes a majority to override the veto. None of that can happen unless one of these Republican wack jobs gets into office. Mr. Obama and the Dems have already tried to compromise with the Repubs on many bills.

If you voted these lunatics into office you will find the U.S. engaged in perpetual foreign wars and that will be the end of civil society.
