Where can I find detailed info about XML stylesheets for genealogical data?
If any conventions or standards exist, I would like to get links to them. If none exist yet (which is what I expect), I would like to read up on whatever efforts have been made so far. If some group is actively working on genealogical style sheets, I would like to be put in touch with them.

Perhaps the info here will help with what you are seeking:
I have found references to a GEDCOM.xml, also referred to as Gedcom 6.0. It was prepared by the Family and Church History Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, that is all I have found - just references to it.

Correction . . . I just found something that may help you re: GEDCOM.xml here:

I hope this helps. I have used .XML style formats for some projects, but have not done so for several years.

Added: I did some more looking. I was hoping to find reference to a book (yes, one of those "old fashioned printed things,") on the topic which you might be able to borrow through a library or purchase. So far, I haven't found one. But, I did find information here:
* http://www.unterstein.net/su/nn2x/ged1212xml.html
And here:

Plus, I find there are 2 Yahoo! Groups that focus on the topic:
* GenealogyXML · Applying XML to Genealogy

* XGenML

The members of both or either group may be able to direct you to more and better sources.
