Brazil to Venezuela by surface transportation?

Hi Everybody,

I need to go from Brazil to Venezuela by surface transportation, and do NOT wanna go via Manaus. If there's a way to go by boat would be fine too. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you very much.

Its going to be one heck of a journey that's for sure. Not that its any of my business but what's the deal with flying?? Would be so much quicker and so much easier but hey ho. The last time I was in Suriname there were a couple Brazilians telling me about a bus from Belem to Paramaribo. I would assume you could then catch a bus from Paramaribo to Ciudad Guyana and on to Caracas. Belem may also offer coastal transportation by boat from Belem or Macapa to Caracas but this is all new to me since I've only flown around South America. There seems to be a direct route from Boa Vista, Brazil to Ciudad Guyana as well which would certainly connect to Caracas. Although getting to Boa Vista you would most likely have to transit Manaus.

    Good luck.
