How long can one live in stage 4 kidney failure?
My grandfather was diagnosed with level 3 kidney failure a few years ago. March 2011, he found out he has now gone into level 4 kidney failure. He says he doesn't want dialisis. He is 59 years old. The Doctor said his blood pressure and kidneys are working together. He has lost a lot of weight and now weighs around 195lbs. He used to be 220 5-6 years old. How long do you think we can expect him to live? He has been in level 4 for about 9 months. How long does level 4 usually last?

There are five stages to kidney failure. It's only stage 5 when failure has been confirmed. I don't think you can determine when he'll be stage 5, hopefully never. You really can't go by the "usual" terms with chronic diseases, you can only hope it won't progress.

actual everyone looks diverse so there is no good answer, i'm afraid. I have level 3 so i have regarded into it slightly. My diabetologist informed me that he had heard of those with almost no kidney function yet they slightly had warning signs and it did not get to kidney failure in any respect. possibly he changed into being style to me and attempting to keep me constructive, even though it must be authentic or he does no longer say it.

The chances of Him dying from Hyperkalemia Secondary to Renal failure is quite high no one can tell how long he has to live on here
