Question to the Christians?
Why do you ask forgiveness from Jesus (Peace be upon him) rather than asking god the creator. I hope this question does not offend anybody, thank you.
I'm confused now. Most of you have said that God and Jesus(Peace be upon him) are one and the verses others have showed me contradict each other, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh it's so confusing.

Jesus IS 100% God AND 100% man. Jesus is the ONLY character in history to be this. I know it sounds confusing and contradictory, but don't think TOO hard on it. There are MANY Bible verses to show Jesus IS God (the Creator), and he was certainly born as a man.
There is a special term for this condition, coined by fourth century theologians. It is called the Hypostatic Union: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypostatic_union
If I think about it too much, my head hurts. Just realize that truly understanding Jesus(God) is BEYOND our human comprehension; and don't lose sleep over it.

Thank you for being respectful towards Jesus. The reason I ask for His forgiveness is b/c of what He said about Himself. When the religous leaders threatened Him and said to Him "How dare you forgive sins! Only God can do that!"...His response was to ask "Which is harder...to forgive sins or to heal this paralyzed man? So that you may know My authority and power I tell this man to get up and walk!!" The man was instantly healed. Jesus (who is alive today) is active in our world today. He is not here to threaten you but rather to demonstrate His power to you and to help you if you are experiencing difficulty. This forum is limited and your question is so very important. I trust that some human person will be provided for you to have this kind of important conversation with. i hope that this is even a little bit helpful and I wish you well.

I am not offended, in fact i am complimented you are so wondering, well, if you did not know, Christianity is divided into many branches because each believes they belong to the true church which was established b Jesus Christ, some of these Christians which include the Roman Catholic faith and the Anglican Church believe God the Father (who you said in your question the creator), God the son and God the Holy Spirit, are three persons in one God, Christians ask forgiveness from Jesus because he is the one who gave his life up on the Cross for our sins which is told in the sacred scriptures, because of this, he has forgiven our sins and tells us to go in peace and in happiness, we ask for his forgiveness because he made such a sacrifice for us, that we must honour it through asking his forgiveness, since Jesus Christ is God The Creator, it is the same thing, he was with him, he is in him, he is one with him, he still is with him, and will always be with him, and in him.

I would be confused too if I believed this but from reading the Bible I do not. As Jehovah's Witnesses, we beg Jesus's father for forgiveness through Jesus's name. Quoting the Hebrew Scriptures, the apostle Paul reminded the Christians in Rome: “Everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.” Then he asked: “How will they call on him in whom they have not put faith? How, in turn, will they put faith in him of whom they have not heard?” (Romans 10:13, 14; Joel 2:32) Bible translations that use God’s name when appropriate help you to draw close to God.

1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Heb_4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

I ask God for forgiveness...with the understanding that Jesus is part of God.
Edit: If you think the bible is confusing, try reading the Qur'an..

The only way to salvation is through Jesus. When you pray, you pray to God in the name of Jesus.

1Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" 1Timothy 6:16 "Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen." God is so Holy, that man in his sinful state can't even be anywhere near God. Exodus 33:20 "And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live." Jesus is God in Human flesh.

AS YOU questioned on good reasoning why would people pray to Christ , when Christ clearly presented him self as the Son in his model prayer stated:
"Our father in the heavens, hallowed be thy name........." (Mattheew 6:9,10)
Jesus showed the Godship of Jehovah as he prayed Jesus spoke these things, and, raising his eyes to heaven, he said: “Father, the hour has come; glorify your son, that your son may glorify you,....... " (John 17:1)
While talking to Mary Magdalene when appearing to her showed his steadfast worship of his Father, God, AND hers also:
(John 20:17) “17 Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and YOUR Father and to my God and YOUR God. . .”
JESUS SHOWED his role as mediator in all his activity through his earthly role:
(1 Timothy 2:5) “5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus,”
Hoped this helped.
