How can I fix my Xbox after it shut off in the middle of my game and now the power button doesn't work?

Question

I was playing KotOR and as I was running along my original (not 360!) Xbox just shut off without warning. I hit the power button and nothing happens. I push the CD tray button and it turns on and opens, but when I push the button to close it, it turns off again. Please, if you know what's wrong and have a solution, help me. You're my only hope!

I tried unplugging everything and plugging it back in, nothing changes.

for now just turn it on with the controller and then take it to geek squad if it isnt fixed in a week or 2
