Looking to make a first-time home theatre system purchase...assistance needed!!?
So this will be my first home theater system purchase. I don't need alot of bells and whistles, just quality sound. The only thing I really need is 3 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. Don't need DVD or Blue Ray player. Mostly just to connect my TV, DVR, Computer. Oh and a remote.
Am looking for the best I can find between 200-400 dollars.
Thanks!!

It would help if you could add about another hundred or so to the top of your budget.
A Pioneer 821K receiver, comes with a remote, can be had right now on Amaz*n for $179. And, a Polk 6750 5.1 speaker set can be had for $219, both items including US shipping. You'll need a few bucks to order a couple of HDMI cables (About $3-5 each), a digital optical audio cable (To send TV audio to the receiver, also about $5-6), and some speaker cable (16 gauge is the way to go, 100 feet for $13).

Avoid the cheap systems with a disk-drive in a skinny receiver.
Go to amazon and search for "Onkyo Home Theater". You will find several different systems that:
* Include a full-sized AV receiver with lots of spare inputs
* Include a separate self-powered sub
* 5 tone matched speakers
I have to warn you - you will NOT get quality musical sound with a total budget of $400. It will work great for movies and games - but not for music.
You can later upgrade to some good speakers with the Onkyo sets as money allows, but you do have to understand the compromises the low budget gives you.
Hope this helps.

You will not be able to find a home theater in that price range. You need a good a/v receiver and good speakers. You will need to be able to spend at least $l000.00 (receiver $300-$400 speakers $400-$600) will get you started on a basic system.
