If you want it to be an indoor dog, don't get a big dog. They need exercise, even if they are sweethearts. I wouldn't get a chihuahua either, since they are notoriously mean.
I'd go with the dachshund.

ALL dogs can be indoors. Why are you only taking a day to decide what dog to get? Getting a LIFETIME COMMITMENT takes MONTHS of preparation, planning and consideration. It's not an over-night snap decision to make with the help of strangers.
ALL of those (besides the mutt) will be "expensive" from a reputable breeder. Labs and Chi's are filling shelters, go there if you want one.
Don't get a random dog just because tomorrow might be convenient for you. Take some time to research, and prepare.
* You've been "planning" for "four months" but are deciding the night before? Right. I DID answer your question. Just because you didn't like it, doesn't mean it wasn't an answer.

Sorry have to agree with everyone else, dont get a big dog, any dog can be indoors..i know that but it doesnt always work out and labs are another breed that is always seen wandering the streets or in shelters. Make sure the dog you pick fits your lifestyle...if you get a big dog=high energy and alot of time to devote to that animal. And let me tell you firsthand that my 2 aunts would not have any dog but a mini daschund and they are little spitfires! They nip and yap and nip and yap and they are TERRIBLE family dogs, i have not met one yet that likes kids.

I think either a shitzu or a Lhasa apso. I have a Lhasa apso and she's always inside. She does not like to go outside that much. But this breed also is a guard dog. Trust me she will bark a lot if someone comes in. So you probably won't get robbed in the middle of the night. Hope this helped. :)

I have a 3-year-old long haired male chihuahua. He's a great pet. It takes him awhile to warm up to strangers (barks for a little bit) . He's brought joy to my family and we're blessed to have him. He wasn't quite too expensive, about $300. Other than him being a bit yappy (can easily be trained out of most small dogs) he's a spectacular addition to our family and i recommend a chihuahua to everyone

a pom or a maltese or maybe a west highland terrier i think these are all kinda expensive tho. labs are too big. daschund might be ok tho if you dont mind a lot of barking and having to pay for back treatment when theyre old.
