    Because it's hollow!

    Sorry. Had to get that joke out of me right away.

    Anywho, if you tap your head while your mouth is open, YOUR MOUTH will eminate vibrations equal to the length of the circle it is trying to mymic.

    I know this may seem contrived, but SHUT YOUR MOUTH! Not only will the hollow sound disapear, but you will be instantly more attractive to men!

    (Seriously, ALL men understand why silence is golden!)
