Well, I would go with either a Labrador Retriever or a Mini Daschund but not a Mini Pinscher...they, from what I have seen are very annoying little dogs! Snappy, yappy, and ..not cute enough to make up for it -ha!

Black Labs
- They are the #1 rated dog in USA.
- They are great swimmers and love to be in water
- Very playful!!!
- They love little kids (If you have any)
- They are more of a friend then a pet.
- They can get hip displasia (Only if you let them get fat)
- These guys will love you. They aren't any ordinary pet.
I have a 9 month old Labrador Retriever. She loves to play in our pool and likes our kids. They are one of the smartest dogs. By the way, We also have Mini Pinschers. They are friendly and funny dogs too. Any of those 2 are great. They love attention. We have one and she has had 4 leg surgeries. Our boy Mini Pinnscher hasn't had any. So its not really a concern.

Mini Dachshund
BECAUSE
- They are generally one of the most healthy dogs of all breeds, so you will have him/her for a very long time!
- Very loyal, loving, and even though tiny, makes great watchdogs cause of their hearty bark.
- Even for being tiny, they are built busty and can handle playing rough
- Fun, enjoyable, complete lap dog!
