I'm just going to go out on a limb and say it's X-linked. If it's Y-linked, only boys can get it and if the father has it, all his sons will have it. Whatever "it" is.
1. All possible X linked genotypes(using X as the dominant trait, x as recessive):
XX, Xx, xx, XY, xY
2. XY is a "normal" male
3. XX is a "normal" female
4. Xx is a carrier female. (There are no carrier males.)

questions a bit unclear but ill give it my best. Sex linked traits X(Xr, or Y) Normal male XY, Normal female XX, Carrier could be a a few things; If not affected -XXr, If they are affected XY, or XrXr
im just using "r" as any possible trait
