I'm just going to go out on a limb and say it's X-linked. If it's Y-linked, only boys can get it and if the father has it, all his sons will have it. Whatever "it" is.

    1. All possible X linked genotypes(using X as the dominant trait, x as recessive):

    XX, Xx, xx, XY, xY

    2. XY is a "normal" male

    3. XX is a "normal" female

    4. Xx is a carrier female. (There are no carrier males.)

questions a bit unclear but ill give it my best. Sex linked traits X(Xr, or Y) Normal male XY, Normal female XX, Carrier could be a a few things; If not affected -XXr, If they are affected XY, or XrXr

im just using "r" as any possible trait

Not 100% sure though -- sorry. I took AP Biology last year, though. I'm sure of the male & female but not the sex-linked & carrier. But I know a guy who posts great videos of biology stuff here: http://www.youtube.com/bozemanbiology
