Wow. Some of the other answers are a bit rude. Come on, people, she just wants some help; if you don't want to help her, don't comment.

Hi. My advice would be to brainstorm. What interests you? What kinds of books do you enjoy reading? What ideas do you want to incorporate into your story? I, personally, think best at night, so that's when most of my ideas come from. Look around you! Anything can be used to spark an idea. Some of the best writers ever (in my opinion) were just sitting around or watching TV when they saw something that sparked their imagination. Heck, sometimes you might wake up in the morning and think to yourself: "That was a really cool dream I just had. I can only remember bits and pieces of it, but it was interesting, and I bet I could make it into a story!"

If you're too impatient for anything like that, try Google. That's what I do when I'm stuck. Try something along the lines of "story prompts for *insert age group here*" There are some great idea generators on the web out there.

I know exactly where you're coming from, by the way; I feel like that all the time, especially when I've just abandoned a project and haven't picked up a new one yet. Sometimes writing feels almost addictive.

I hope I could help! Good luck! :D

Your best bet is using some different Idea methods. Like when i cant think of anything. I jot down the first thing that comes to my mind and then see if I can work with anything I come up with. If I cant then it usually means i habe writers block and I just wait until and idead comes to me. (the smallest of things can trigger an idea, its just depends on how you work with it.)

When writing a book you have to think of what time and settting you want it to be in, what age group your writing for, fiction non-fiction ect. and most importantly the conflict and conflict resolution (which not all books necessarily have a resolution) If there is no conflict then there really is no book unless its a text book or something. anywhoooo just try to find something to get your creative juices flowing, only you can come up with an idea that no one else has thinks of and only you know what works for you. Just make sure its something YOU are really interested in because if your not interested in the plot and everything then your gonna get bored and waste your time.

But trying to get ideas from other people isnt really gonna cut it. Writing a book takes alot of time and planning, Its not a peice of cake.

The only reason you write a book is because you have ideas, without ideas, there's no book for you to write. I don't see how you can say you love writing, if you don't come up with your own ideas. That's part of it, coming up with your own ideas. Because you can't tell a story with an idea that isn't yours, it's just going to crash and burn. How about character names and you can go from there?

Dang calm down people s/he is just asking for a plot line, not a whole detailed story so you don't need to be rude about it. They're just a little stumped and asking for help.

    Oh dear.

No, you don't want to write a book. This is like saying: "I really really want to make a cake, but I can't be arsed to get any of the ingredients. Can you strangers buy them for me?"

So no. If you want to write a book, do, but I really don't think you do.

I have plenty of good book ideas, but unless you're willing to give me money I'm going to use them myself, thank you very much.

Writing's hard work and if you're too lazy to come up with your own good ideas, nobody's going to help you.

2012 is sort of a mystery and come up with your own idea, no one is going to give you ingredients so you can make money off another person's original idea.

No, you want to have written a book. The difference is that in your case, you clearly don't think you need to do any of the work.

Write because you have a story to tell, not because you want to have told a story.

Take heart, Stephenie Meyer doesn't have any good ideas either, but she's making a fortune with her "writing."
