Shampoo/conditioner question?

I've used anything from quite harsh shampoos to very gentle shampoos on my long (past waist length) hair. If you use heavier conditioners (most things like Pantene, etc.), even going to a gentler shampoo you'll still need to use a less-gentle one from time to time to get conditioner build up off. The key is a shampoo that is clean rinsing and making sure you get it all out, and then use a good conditioner after.

A few shampoo brands that are gentler are Elucence, Giovanni and Burt's Bees, and they also have conditioners. The first contains a sulfate, I don't think Giovanni has sulfates, and Burt's Bees doesn't. Keep in mind that natural (my definition being containing no sulfates) isn't always gentler. For example, Avalon's shampoo doesn't work in my hard water and I've heard others mention it is very drying.

Not shampoo, but if you want to go really gentle, ax the shampoo and wash with a light conditioner (like Suave or VO5).

Any type of professional shampoo/conditioner would be useful, but if you want it to grow you have to let it go, which means you should cut off a 1/2 inch every 6 weeks so you can prevent split ends from spreading up the hair shaft which will prevent it from growing long

I don't think there are really any shampoo's that grow your hair really long. But if you take good care of your hair will grow long in no time. The shampoo I use is

Pantene Medium-Thick shampoo

The conditioner is

Biolage therapy detangling soloution (which is a really moisturizing conditioner)

Herbal essecence not washing it as often will help it to grow. Works for me!
