What will happen if a 7th in line Prince of Denmark marries a 2nd in line Princess of the Netherlands?

After the Royal Wedding I was just thinking how big would a Royal Wedding be if a Prince is marrying a Princess (by birth). Like if Prince Nikolai of Denmark (eldest son of Prince Joachim and then Princess Alexandra *divorced she is now a Countess) married Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands, Princess of Oranje-Nassau (eldest daughter of heir to the throne Willem-Alexander, Prince of Orange and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands). Can that work? Prince Nikolai is 7th in line to his Danish throne and Princess Catharina-Amalia is 2nd in line to her Dutch throne. If they did get married in the future will Denmark and the Netherlands become a joint Kingdom or something? Since she is more likely to become a Queen then he is a King (of Denmark), does he have to renounce his Danish titles?

The Danish house Royals have married into Netherlands before. Their all related to Queen Victoria.

No such luck in combining the Houses.

Denmark's Royalty has also married into the UK Royal House, also the Russian Royal house, Greek Royal Houses.

I doubt if Prince Nickolai will become King.Lets hope for Royal Babies.

    Nothing.

They can marry, there would likely be a big media circus wedding, though nothing like the scale of a British heir to the throne...

Would he have to give up his rights to the Danish throne? Possibly, since, you know...7th in line isn't likely to get anything, anyway.

Perhaps. It depends. Prince Philip had to renounce his titles when he married Princess Elizabeth. But keep in mind this was just after WWII and the political situation in Greece was dire. They were in the middle of a civil war and the royalists vs the socialists caused a tricky situation and Philip was caught in the middle of it. Lord Mountbatten tried to emphasize the Britishness of Philip, who was raised in England and didn't even speak Greek. So thats why that happened. I doubt anyone would have to do that nowadays.

Then you will have a party where a Danish pastry roll gets cooked in a Dutch oven.
