Does this sound like a good book to you?

SUMMARY (Book 1):

Reid Syndayen is a 21-year old boy with nothing to lose. His mom is permanently drunk and high. He never knew his dad or his dad's family. His intelligence is unimaginable, he's wasting his life.

When a mysterious man shows up and introduces him to the Underworld of New York City and enlists Reid to help kill another man, things start to get weird. In order for Reid to complete his mission, he will need to travel back in time, which means he needs the help of Violet Gentalli. She's a vampire. She's not just another troubled teen in the Underworld playing out a morbid fantasy...she's a real vampire, and she can travel to the past.

Violet and Reid. First they despise each other but soon become unlikely friends; united by tragedy and fate.

I'm writing this book with a friend. What do you think? Would you read this book?

Update:

Disregarding what Wilfredo said, the book will have a lot of romance (considering the friend I'm writing it with is a hopeless romantic) and action. It won't be overly romantc, like Twlight.

    No. It's just one sob story after another. Reminds me of the XFactor; trying to gain the sympathy vote.

    If I see the word "mysterious" in another book summary, I think I'm going to lose my mind.

    Why does this man introduce him to a secret world? What makes him so special? What's the point? Why is he suitable for killing this man?

    What has a vampire got to do with it? Why add in a vampire? Is the whole underworld city full of vampires? Just vampires?

    maybe you should explain how the underworld was made ( example )

    the underworld was made for unusual people who normal people couldnt get along with like vampires or serial killers . its like a hide out !

    maybe you should tell how she was bitten ( example )

    she was getting drunk at a bar and when she got out a family found her and took her to there home . they abused her and harrassed her . then when they were done with her one of them scratched her and threw her out a window naked into a garbage can . then what the vampire didnt know the venom in him soaked into her wound and she became a vampire and passed out . then a leader or man from the underworld walked by and noticed her and took her and examined her . then she was part of the underworld!!!!!

    I'd give it a chance.

    Suggestion: The sentence 'She's a vampire.' Take out the word she's and connect it to the previous sentence with a hyphen (-).

    Due to past experience with books, vampires usually disappoint me, but I'm sure you two will write a great series.

    Calling a 21 year old a "boy" turned me off, but out of respect I kept reading. Than you mentioned time traveling and a vampire named violet so I completely lost interest.

    Sorry, I wouldn't read it.
