I work for a taxi company, the van I drive has been having a lot a problems.?
Right now the back breaks are grinding, I have told the owner of the cab, but he still hasn't done anything about it. My question is being that I know of this problem and my customers can hear the grinding, If I should get into an accident will I be responsible if my customer gets hurt?
Yes before you ask we have very good insurance, I also know that being I know of this problem I shouldn't drive the van, but with jobs being so hard to find I sorta have no choice, so please don't try to preach to me about this.

When you report it to to the cab's owner, make sure you somehow document that you report it and keep some kind of proof that you reported the problem. With that documentation, if there's an accident caused by whatever the problem is, you're not responsible, the owner is, and you can say with proof that you reported it but nothing got fixed.

Yes and No.
If you cause the accident and the vehicle was not the issue then yes you as well as the owner / owners will be responsible.
If its the cause of the vehicle then no but you will need to have the problems documented for your protection.
