random question about police?

so today i was driving and came right behind a police suv, first of its kind that i have ever seen. i think it was an avalanche. so on the back it said in bold white letters "this vehicle was taken from a local drug dealer", why do they print this on the back of the vehicle. whats the use of letting us know? is it just about awareness or is there another reason for it? thanks for ur answers .. happy new year :)

It serves two purposes. First, it is to make people aware the consequences of dealing drugs may include losing your vehicle. Second, it is a notice to the citizens that the fancy SUV was not purchased at taxpayer's expense.

To teach the kids that idolize the dope dealers in their neighborhood that after the idiots are arrested they lose all their stuff

  • They're probably trying to push the point that drug dealers can lose everything they have. Was there a "Project D.A.R.E." sign on it?
