Am I being a jerk or...?
So I'm in a club at my school and the president recently resigned. I'm the vp and I want to take over for him... But the secretary does too. But she's gonna be in the play soon so she won't be at any upcoming meetings for a couple months... I brought it up to her and said I'd like to take over and she said we should let the members decide because it's only fair..
Am i being a jerk thinking she really shouldn't be the president? If not how do I word it nicer than I've done..

haha idk where she got the idea that the secretary comes before the vp. the whole point of having a vp is so if the president resigns, then the vp takes over. no, you aren't being a jerk. you're right.

You are currently the acting president weld your power and have her beaten for opposing you. I think you need to go to a members vote eventually but for now you are in charge.
