Save a Photoshop picture onto my desktop?

I just morphed a picture on Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 (to be more exact, I meshed the two pictures together) and I can't save it correctly. It will save, but it becomes a file, and I cant use it on Picnik, where it needs the direct photo onto the desktop, not a file containing the photo. Does anyone know how to? I can't drag it onto the desktop either.

Sorry if this wasn't very clear, I'm not sure exactly how to word it.

Update:

It is saved as a PSD file, in case that helps

If you're using a Windows computer:

    1. Go to the desktop

    2. Right-click an empty spot on the desktop

    3. Choose Properties (or Personalize in Windows Vista / 7)

    4. Choose the option to change the desktop picture/image

    5. Point to the file that was saved by Elements

    6. Save / Apply

At this point, your image should be the desktop background so you can do whatever you like with it.

    Good luck :o)

you have to save it as a jpg, gif, or png. PSD is a native format and can only be read by Photoshop (and other programs who have psd readability). But Picnik and your desktop will need it to be in a more universal format like gif, jpg, etc...

So to do that.... go to "file" then "save for web devices...." Choose a format from the drop down. You might want to switch to "4-up" view and try different settings and/or formats to see which one will give you the best quality at the smallest size. But either way... once saved as a standard format, you should have no problems putting it on the desktop and/or uploading to picnik.

No questions asked, the best site for Photoshop tutorials is: http://www.photoeditinglessons.com/

All tutorials are in video format, which makes them easier for you to follow along with the instructor. The videos are interactive and very easy to follow, this will help you learn piano three times faster. Good Luck!
