Priceline does charge the full amount of your hotel stay at the time of booking, so there shouldn't be an issue with using your debit card (assuming it's a Visa or MasterCard debit card). But few hotels accept cash for the incidentals fee. They usually want a credit card on file for those charges; they will place a hold on the card, which means if you use a debit card for that, you won't be able to spend that money from your account. Those hotels that do accept cash usually require a large deposit - larger than what they would charge to your card in most cases.
If at all possible, I would try to find a different hotel for your mom's 50th. Circus Circus is really just not nice at all, and it's in a horrible location. You can find comparable rates at places like Flamingo, Bally's, Harrah's, Luxor, Tropicana, and Excalibur. I'd even recommend Imperial Palace over Circus Circus - it's not really much nicer, but it at least has a better location.

Circus Circus is an incredibly cheap hotel and not suggested at all, especially for your mom's 50th.
It's not really a hotel meant for adults, more for adults with kids. I suggest Flamingo or Harrahs for some nice clean rooms with no resort fees. Your mom will be happier and prices are just as good without having to Priceline it. You may end up with the Riviera if you priceline.
Go check out http://www.mycheapvegas.com/ promo codes and compare the prices with what you expect to pay before you decide to go that route.

Yes you can use a debit card for hotel rooms on priceline. There are a few catches to using your debit card. When you check in most places require a credit card, but you can use your debit card as long at there is a visa or mastercard logo on it. The hotel will preauthorize what they think you on average will spend daily at the hotel. In hotels I worked at we charged MIN 50.00 a day. If you use a debit card it will basically temporally withdrawal the funds so you cant use it. Also at checkout you can pay cash for your hotel incidentals. I have a netspend(prepaid debit card) and the rules for my debit is 90 business days from day of check out the pending hold on funds will be released. But you can get around that by waiting 2 weeks after checkout date, calling the hotel's accounting department and request that they contact you "credit card" company to auth the release of funds. Most hotels will do this.
Source(s): The many screaming guests at my desk when we auth their debit card for 1000.00 and all they brought was 1200.00 on the debit. (I worked at a resort). - 9 years ago
you should be fine that way. I think the resort fee if any is included in you priceline quote. Make sure you don't pay much more than 25 dollars per night at circus circus. When you check-in you can give cash to add to your account if you watch a pay-per-view movie or have rooms service. Otherwise priceline should cover everything else.

You'll either have to leave a credit card number or security deposit when you check in.
