Some people lowballed me on a bicycle?
I'm selling a 50's model Firestone Cruiser, and I've had several people come and see it, then lowball me on the price (I'm asking 50 bucks fer criminysake) The wheels are worth 50 without the rest of the bike.
As soon as they lowball me, I close the garage door and tell them bye and walk off.
Whats a better way to get the point across without being rude?

Either they don't know these bikes or they will most likely fix & flip it for cash somewhere else if it needs fixing but even if it's not in good shape but rideable it's worth a little more than the price your asking too.
If you don't know these sites already then please check them out and at two of them you can sell it in their for sale sections at The Classic and Antique Bicycle Exchange, Ratrodbikes & Old Roads and some of the members actually have Firestone bikes.

Any sale of a second hand item requires bargaining. You don't seem prepared to do that. Any person coming to look at your old bike is going to make a lower offer than the asking price. If you really want to sell the thing, at least talk to the prospective buyer before you slam the door in their face. Nobody can make you take less money than you want, but closing the door effectively ended all negotiation. If you keep talking you might get what you want, closing the door ensures that you won't

it;s not worth $50 unless PRISTINE condition
not repainted
not rusty
not ANYTHING but sat in a vacuum for 60 years
MAYBE new tires if you can get the original ones
sorry
i;d just tell them before they come, you aren;t coming down on price, they can come anywaya
and if you never sell it, i guess you want the bike more than the money
it;s not rude to say no, especially if you warned them
what would be rude would be to have someone say 'ok i am coming 250 miles to see this thing, i hope you will bargain' and you say 'yes', and then they come, and then you don;t bargain
be explicit before anyone makes long trips
that isn;t rude

If they offer anything more than $10, take the money & run. Unless that bike is in showroom new condition, it's not worth $50. Sorry dude.
