My friend's dad just got me a brick external hard drive with tons and tons of music on it. its all MP3s but iPod plays MP4s. How would I be able to transfer the music to my iTunes?

Ipods play mp3 (music) and mp4(video)... You just drag the mp3's onto itunes and sync the ipod

Well iPod plays both MP3 format and MP4
But the difference between those two is
MP3 is a format that is only audio and NO video and all the SONGS in your iPod are MP3
MP4 is a format with both video and audio and all the VIDEOS in your iPod are MP4
