Whats happening to my dog?

Hi.. So my cousin left for Florida, his dog; a 6 year old Dashcund (Wiener Dog) is left to me until today at Noon! I gave him exactly 2 and half slices of ham in the past 3 days.... He's been pooping every three hours or so, since yesterday (it's light toasted brown, very smushy, lightly weighted! and it smells infectionous like a ear wax thats been in your ear for a year!) The ham was the only human food I gave him... his peestick (; is light pink but still normal and a little white. He sleeps most of the day. He eats dog food, and still drinks aqua. His bladder is just fine. He doesn't really play with the toys. What's happening?!?! I can take him to the vets at 11:00.

If you know what it is, tell me what it is.

How do I friggen' make this Dog better?

I don't disturb him, unless he starts to shake his left back hind paw. whatever it called.

He's been here for five days. He doesn't bother to smell any of his toys..... 99 % of the time.

The ham is orignal. but on the crust which he did have a smich of is smoked.

Should I give him some rice in his dog food? Cooked tho?

Update:

Thanks sooo much!!! He had smoked pink legs ham from thanksgiving last year, and he was fine! I just don't see why. :P

hes probably just got a bit of gastoenteritis from having the ham which has upset his stomach causing him to have a bit of diarrhoea best course of action is to starve him for 12 hours then feed him a bland diet of scrambled egg or boiled chicken and rice small meals often throughout the day it may be a good idea to take him to the vet if he is lethergic or if he has had any vomiting with it as they will probably give him a probiotic and some medication but keep him off his normal food for now as his digestive tract needs to rest

Ham is way too salty for dogs, so giving him this was a mistake. And he now has the result of this mistake. If you only have him until mid-day now, just don't give him any more food and tell your cousin what's going on so he can make up his own mind whether his dog needs the vet, or not. Poor boy has probably been missing his owner so it's hardly surprising that he's not interested in his toys.

Basically you do nothing - unless the dog collapses (which I seriously doubt is going to happen).

Just like humans can get upset stomachs, so can dogs. Chances are he'll be absolutely fine, I wouldn't take him to the vets - wait until his owner returns and explains.

I highly doubt the ham would have caused this either - he could even just be distressed at the change in scenery.

Just give him his normal dog food, preferably dry biscuits, and see how it goes..

Any Pork (including ham) will give most dogs the runs.

It should clear up in 24 hours if you feed him chicken based food or oatmeal porridge

I think the safest, smartest and fairest thing to do would be to consult the vet. Therefore you can be 100% sure what is going on with the dog.

You can't take advice on here that is like " your dog is fine" because no one can tell you that except for a vet, Please don't take someone's advice on here that says he will be fine, because you do not know that and neither do they.

Vets are expensive i know but you could always try and workout a payment plan or maybe borrow some money of family or friends.

Please do the right thing for this dog.
