what can i become with this degree?

so, i want to study english literature and french at university, and i have no idea what i want to do after. teaching would be my back up, but how about law? and how hard is it to make it as one? any other career paths would also be open to consideration.

You can go to graduate school, or get an entry level job that requires some degree, but isn't degree specific.

If you don't have an Education Degree, most states require that you get either a Master's Degree or Post-Graduate certificate to be a subject area teacher (for example, High School French).

You could get into Law School with that combination of majors (the amount of reading and writing you'd need to do would actually be pretty good preparation for the workload at Law School), but you'd also have to get a pretty good score on the LSAT. After Law School, you'd have to pass the Bar exam (it takes most people a few tries - it's offered every 6 months), so you could technically only get a job as a legal assistant until then, though some firms will offer you a position contingent on passing the bar. It's a pretty tough job market in most places for lawyers - most are making much less than $100K annually, and they have quite a bit of school debt to pay off.

You can go to law school with these majors as law schools only require a high GPA and a high LSAT score. In general there are very few jobs in these fields especially if you have studied French as a second language as your accent would not be native. You will be eligible for any jobs that just require a BA in any subject. The hardest part is getting the job. You could do many of them, but the competition is great for most jobs and your majors do not give you much of a leg up.

"Mother Mary" and the sisters recommend that you apply to the church as a night Janitor or a Walmart door greeter... (that's how far that "degree" is going to get you !)
