Without corporate sponsorships for bowls, stadiums and advertising billboards some of the old bowl game venues would wither away. Pro team owners use corporate monies to fund their venues and stay with current trends.

Keeping up with bowl game names should be a minor nuisance. Look at what some conferences are doing in expanding their memberships - SEC, Big Ten, Pac 10, Big East, etc. Nobody ever said life would not be complicated.

I agree, it's all greed. It makes me want to throw up. I'm not a football fan, but a baseball fan, but I still refer to all baseball stadiums by the name BEFORE they were changed to some big greedy corporate name.

    Tiger Stadium for Comerica Park

Royal Stadium for whatever they call it now

Dodger Stadium for whatever they call it now.

I like the names best when they drop the "s" at the end of the name of the team and add "Stadium".

I agree, but unfortunately it's about money. I started to hate it since the Copper Bowl changed its name to Insight.com in 1996.

    EDIT

"Did you ever turn down a chance to make money?"

Yes I did, when I wasn't comfortable with the way of making that money.

I agree and I also think it applies to stadiums. Mercedes Benz Superdome in NO?!? FedEx Field for the Redskins? CenturyLink instead of Kingdome? Heinz instead of Three Rivers? It's all greed and stupidness.
