The pot in the slow cooker?
I want to try and make pot roast, and I found a simple recipe on youtube thanks to foodwishes. The only thing is the chef uses a dutch oven. I have a slow cooker with a removable pot (COOKS, model # 2199) and I was wondering if I could use that pot on the stove. Is this possible? If not, what is an affordable, good quality dutch oven to invest in. Also would there be a significant difference between using a pot as opposed to a dutch oven in this?

No don't use that pot on the stove.
If the recipe calls for the roast to be braised, you should be able to do that in your crock pot. Just turn up the thermostat and let it get hot. After, you have braised your meat, turn it down.
Also, check your crock pot, in most instances you don't need the insert pot and can cook directly in the cook well.
As for a good quality dutch oven, look at this one by lodge. I usually like to recommend Stainless Steel, but I also have an enamel and this one is more reasonably priced.

Just an FYI, here are some stainless steel dutch ovens. Most often when you purchase a set of stainless steel cookware, you get one. But you can buy them separately.

There would not be a significant difference in using the crock pot as opposed to a Dutch oven.
No, don't use the crock pot liner on the stove top or in the oven, unless the manufacturer's instruction sheet specifically says this is acceptable. Most liners are ceramic and can crack or shatter if they are used outside the crock pot itself.
I have never seen a stainless steel Dutch oven, which is not to say they don't exist (I have never seen a molecule either). Dutch ovens are usually made of cast iron (even the enameled ones) which holds the heat and surrounds your food with a constant, even heat. That is essentially what a crock pot does, as well.
Also, don't try to cook in your crock pot without the liner unless, again, the manufacturer's instruction sheet says you can do so. Many crock pots have an exposed heating element in the well where the liner goes, and you can damage the heating element by cooking food in direct contact with it. If not damage, the element can be really hard to clean once your food is cooked in direct contact with the element.
If you want your meat brown, brown it in a separate pan before putting it in the crock pot.

Just use your slow cooker for your pot roast. Just follow the directions for the pot roast but cook it in your slow cooker for 8 hours on low. Don't use your slow cooker insert on the stove. It may break. And you can find any dutch oven pan where you can buy pots and pan. They are not that expensive.

Roast beef (can use meat for a sandwich, add to cooked noodles, add bbq sauce and reheat, etc) Buy a 3-4 lb boneless chuck roast Slice it into about 6 pieces Melt some butter (I use Parkay marg.) in a frying pan on high heat Braise (barely brown to seal in juices) the meat on all sides as u turn the meat, sprinkle on salt and pepper and garlic powder on all sides Braising only about a minute on each side is fine Place the meat in the crock pot Add an envelope of dry onion soup mix Add 5 beef bouillion cubes Add water until it just covers the meat Turn crockpot on low and cook for 8 hrs OR cook it on high for 3 hours and on low for 3 hours When done, ladle out the beef onto a plate, shred using 2 forks, and discard any fat If you want, the liquid left in the crockpot can be put into a freezer container and then used later to boil noodles in.
