What did you see at the movie "I Bought A Zoo"?
When we were young, one of the men at church would always preview a movie before showing it to the church. Something I wanted to do more of was that but for secular movies; to view the movie ahead of time and then take the youth, and then afterward discuss.
Not to spoil the movie for you, but Matt Damon plays a father of two children who's mom died. There's various people that have words for this father, boy and girl; with the zoo animals and all, as the saying goes, it has a way of worming it's way to your heart.
Near the end of the movie, the father takes the two children to the place he and previously his wife met at a restaurant. The father has these memories as he recalls where she sits... THEN THEY SHOW THE BOY LOOKING AT THE BOOTH, AS IF SHE WERE REALLY THERE AND HE COULD REALLY SEE AND TALK TO HER. If you went to the movie... what can you say about it? If you didn't go to the movie, "if I were you", well I would have liked to know that they were going to put that part in before going to see the movie.
...But what about the line.... "Sometimes, All you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, and something great will come of it."
We grew up with a lot of animals, but they had a lot more than we did; but not all theirs I would want to play with... like what comes out of that box.
Frogma - A little more on that? I'll take that as "good good"; as in it's nice to to have something that's spoiled be said that it's spoiled. If you happen to pass by this again, uhh, were you planning to go see the movie and now you're not?

I'm truly sorry for the rude answers you've gotten! Um, well, this has nothing to do with anything, but I just wanted to let you know, i am a Christian, also, so just letting you know that you are getting this from the view-point of a Christian:) Well, that kind of confused me also. I didn't get why they were showing Dylan as seeing his mother. If you were to over think this, you would think that the movie is suggesting that he is seeing dead loved ones. BUT I don't think that was the case. I think that Dylan's father Benjamin, was imagining what it was like if she were there. And Dylan saw what his dad was doing. So I think that in a way, he was trying to imagine his mother sitting there (Even though, if they wanted to portray that, he could have "imagined" her in a bit of a fuzzy image"). But he still remembered her, so I think he was also remembering her. But I do, agree that they did a bad job of portraying that. I really liked that quote: "All you need is 20 seconds of insane courage and I promise you, something good will come out of it". In fact that's now my favorite quote. I think that it's a good quote to talk about in a youth group (I am a 14 year old in youth group, and I would LOVE to talk about it and what it means). I personally think it means that all you need is just a little bit of courage and you can move mountains. Talk about that with them in a Christian-view-point. Be like: "Now who gives us this 20 seconds of courage"? God does. and when we have that courage we don't care what others think, so we can change the world. Often times, for youth, we care too much of what others think. And when we care what others think about us, we get scared. Scared that they will outcast us for being different, and taking a stand. So all we need is courage to defeat the odds, and change anything we want. I hope I helped:) Oh and btw- I'm not being mean, but don't be one of those over-bearing conservative, fundamentalist Christians, who see a movie and find ONE little thing wrong with it, and declare that none of the youth should see it. All things have a solution. So why censor them, when you can take the chance to talk about them,? It was a good movie huh? I loved it!
