How long does it take for stitches to dissolve?

I cut my finger and I've had dissolvable stitches for 2 weeks now.

Number one are you sure they are the kind that dissolves. Next the outside stitch does not dissolve only the part below the skin. It may already have dissolved it just hasn't fallen out. NOTE: don't go pulling on them. They will fall out on their own if they are truly the kind that dissolves.

    Depends on the type.

Some a few weeks, some never.
