Why are so many questions posted in 'languages' that have nothing at all to do with that subject?

They're usually about boyfriend problems or something that's far removed from languages.

The default category for such questions seems to be 'languages' (why?)... but even so, the asker should be able to choose his/her own category to post it... they're probably too lazy.

I realize that this question isn't strictly about 'languages' but it is about the category...that's why I'm deliberately posting it there.
