You are not suppose to buy a boy anything. Have you talked this over with your father. If you start giving him things he will lose feelings for you. He should regard you as his keepsake. You are the one that is suppose to receive his favors. This will build more character in him. He won't be dead beat waiting for what you have to give him. He is not your grandmother, and he is not your little brother. He is your boyfriend and the example that you need to set for each other is that it is his duty to do for you and, you can help him, but it isn't your duty to do. Awkward isn't it?
