World of Warcraft summary.?

Alright, so i've been playing the starter edition for a little bit and have been getting an idea to the game, but I was wondering if people could explain the full edition in a bit more depth to me. I feel as though a lot of very important content was left out of the starter edition, and was hoping people could address some of these points.

Also I've got a few more specific questions of my own;

1. When making a new character do you always have to start at level 1? (I know Death Knights can start at 55)

2. What exactly are raids? What's so great about them?

3. Whats the quickest way to level up?

4. Can friends give you better weapons and armor at a low level?

5. As I've been playing I journeyed to Orgimmar and noticed nearly 99% of everyone was a level 85, had incredibly awesome armor and weapons, and flew around on a dragon or some other magnificent mount - how long do you think it took for them to achieve all of that?

Anyway, thanks to anyone who gives a good answer. I just want to know some more about the game before I go and purchase it along with all the (expensive) expansion packs.

    1. Yes, you always have to be level 1 (55 for DK)

    2. Raids are 10-man or 25-man fights against bosses. They have an "epic" feel to them your first couple of times.

    3. Quest, Quest, Quest.

    4. Yes, if you meet the requirements to wear the gear.

    5. Totally depends on the player, it can be two weeks, it could be two years.

I wouldn't waste the time or money on the game. It really boils down to being level 85 (game is boring as hell before you hit level cap), than getting gear, and more gear, until a new patch is out. Then you grind for even more gear! Yay! Save yourself the time don't buy the expansions.

Source(s): I have played many years during Vanilla, BC, WoTLK, and a month of Cataclysm.

    1) Yes you always start at level 1. (with the exception of a Death Knight. But you need one character of level 55 to make a DK)

    2) Raids are end game content in which you and your guild mates will take on lengthy battles against elite monsters and bosses.

    3) Do quests. Do dungeons. Always log of in a town to get extra XP when you log back in. Join a high level guild that has lots of perks including more xp gained.

    4) Yes. Friends can give you better gear providing they are the same faction as you, and the item can be used by your level.

    5) That depends how you play, how much time a day you play and whether you play solo or in a guild. Some people can hit 85 in a couple of weeks. I'm not even joking. But it can take a lot longer. I once took nearly a year, lol. But my next character made it in a month. But if you play hard and long, you can make it to 85 in a few weeks. The gear is another matter. To get really good gear you'll have to go into dungeons /raids etc. So you'll want a good, active guild if you don't want to go in with random strangers. You can also win some nice items doing daily quests, which can take around 20 days for some. Dragons can be achieved in end game content but you can also try for the Time Lost which is a rare dragon that you just have to find and kill.

This game really is about how you choose to play. You get what you put the effort in for. But you can still play casually, have ok gear, get some achievements and be level 85 without selling your soul ;) It's a great game and I'd recommend it to anyone. I don't agree with the above poster that it's boring before 85. It's only boring if you're racing to 85. My advice is take an easy journey and enjoy some of the lower level questing and achievements.
