Your assertion is a classic straw-man accusation.

Firstly, not everyone holds the same esteem for certain days of the year. To me, new year's eve is just another day, it doesn't hold any particular significance to me.

Secondly, if you are going to assert your own assumptions about others then at least practice the ideology that you patronize others with.

It is you who is asking this question on new years eve when you could be doing something else, we are merely answering it. I would not be answering this question if you had not asked it, so not only are you wasting your own time (the accusation you put to posters in this section, therefore making you a hypocrite) but you are also wasting my time (making you an antagonist of the behaviour you supposedly condemn.)
