I think im depressed? help?
I'm sorry you people have to read this sob story I know its just a burden. Okay for starters I'm not trying to get attention, I just want some help. I do think I'm depresses or something is wrong with me I just don't know. I feel worthless like I haven't done any good, I'm just the result of a one night stand .. I am so ugly. Im not even joking when I say this, but I was washing my face and I looked up in the mirror and started crying because of how ugly I am, also that happened when I was doing my makeup. I feel just overwhelmingly sad and I just can't move out of bed. My sleep goes from one exteme to another, where I'm sleeping for 15 hours or where I'm not sleeping at all im also never hungry .. I feel like normal hunger level but I want to keep eating and eating. I don't know what's wrong with me. My friends and family see my shell not what's inside. They see a loud, fun, outgoing girl. But on the inside I'm scared, broken and miserable. Please help me. Also if this is depression is there a home cure? I can't tell my mom. She doesn't take me seriously. I also think I have adhd. I'm talking like I had all the symptoms and she just brought up excuses and said " fine we will take you to the mental hospital and get you doped on all these meds" she doesn't take me seriously! She said to stop diagnoising myself. She will say the same thing to me when I bring up depression. My friend was in the same boat as me. She thougth she was depressed but her mom wouldn't listen. Do you know what got her mom to listen? Her attempting suicide. I'm NOT going to do that though. Please help. I need at home cures for whatever the hell I have. Thanks for reading my ramble xx

Hi there,
im guessing that you are in you teen years?? well im 16 :) First off there an't nothing wrong with you:) many teens have this feeling in their life that their not good enough, their not pretty, their over weight whatever it may be. You have to listen to your heart and believe in your self. I am soooo happy to hear that suicide is not an option for you!! You need sometime off and just cool off, drop any stress and Relax.Listen to your favourite songs, dance, sing whatever makes you feel happy. Get some sleep. Hang out with friends. You have to retrain your brain and let yourself know you are beautiful, and you mean soo much to your friends and family. Try to get active, go for runs, swim, skate, or play video games where you have to more around alot like just dance (best game ever :) ) by doing this you will start to feel better about yourself. As for your hunger level thing, try drinking water, you may actually be more thristy than hungry.Hope this helps you a lot :)

I have been in your shoes. I have been living with depression for years, and when I was a bit younger I had the same thoughts you described. You really should seek help from a doctor. There are things u can do on your own but it may not be enough. There is a Book called "Feeling Good" by David Burns MD, that can really help if you read it and do what it says. It will take some time and effort, but your work will not go unrewarded. This book was recomended to me by a Mental health professional, and is written by a Pshychiatrist. Its the next best thing to actually going to cognitive behavioral therapy, but again you must do what its says. I still think you should consider seeing your doctor though, as you may need more than the book alone can offer, such as an antidepressant, and/or further evaluation. Hope You feel better soon, and have a happy new year!

By observing your situation, here are some suggestions. If you follow i am sure you will be better
1- Never tell what you are suffering from untill you are sure that the person you are telling will support you, because if they won't, it will make your situation worse.
2- It is a bit hard to talk about your problems with people you know, or people around you. So, make friends anonymously online. Find some friends on skype, msn, yahoo etc and talk to them, that will make you feel better.
3- If you are not interested in anything (like sports, a club, paintings, arts or hanging out) get yourself a pet ( a baby dog is most preferable). It will help you becoming more strong and keep you occupied.
4- Don't think how the world think about you. Everyone in this world has right to live and you are one of them. Live it your own way and don't give a f what others say. They are just not worth your time.
5- Don't push yourself on anything too hard (let it be studies, exams, or job) because everyone gets a second chance and maybe more.
6- Never take any kind of medications related to depression, drugs or anything like that. It worsens the situation.

Hi
Perhaps your mom is not aware of the devastating effects of mental illness. You should talk to your school counsellor or nurse, family doctor, mental health professional, someone that you can trust and feel that you are not going to be judged.
If you suffer from depression, it helps my eating good food and getting regular exercise. Doctors do not like putting a person on an antidepressant.
Exercise gives you a release of enorphins which are natural "happy chemicals". This will help your self esteem as well.
Omega 3 fatty acids (found in fish, salmon) are known to help people with depression as well as Vitamin B and C.
You really should go to the doctor and talk about your symptoms. Self diagnosing is not the way.
You can have depression, anxiety, bipolar,,,so
tell your mom that you feel lousy and that you need help. Tell her that you need her to be there for you and it would mean alot if she would go with you.
