    This are the letters for those in the Order of the British Empire.

    The ranks from lowest to highest are

    MBE - Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire

    OBE - Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire

    CBE - Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire

    KBE/DBE - Knight/Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British EmpireOrder of the British Empire

    GBE - Knight/Dame Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British EmpireOrder of the British Empire

    Men with the last two ranks are styled Sir. Women with the last two are styled Dame.

    CBE, then OBE, and then MBE at the bottom. Although Bottom is relative; getting even an MBE isn't bad!
