I'm just learning guitar, what should i learn first?
I really wanted to learn guitar, so I asked for a guitar for Christmas. I got a really pretty one. :3
I have no idea how to play though, and I have no idea where to start.
So where do you think I should start? Or where did you start?
Obviously I should learn which strings are what notes, and chords...
But...
I dunno.
Help?
i'm trying to teach myself... i don't know anyone that i can ask to teach me...

start by learning simple chords like Em, E, Am, G, D, C
learning the string names(from thin to thick)E B G D A E
and watch some YouTube easy tutorials for some simple songs
learn some common scales like the C major scale
the best idea is to get a teacher to teach you
so they and correct you immediately if your doing something wrong

You should take lessons. You will get a hundred different answers from 100 people. Only a teacher can give you feedback, and can give you tips and techniques that you won't get from a book, CD/DVD s, or the internet.

Do these chords in sequence:
E G D A
That's the intro to Sin City by Ac/Dc
(And then those are also the chords to the rest of the song just about, so...once you got that down, you got it all down. rock on.)

Start off by learning the easiest chords: G, A, D, E, C.
You can learn this by playing simple songs in beginner booklets or by youtube tutoring.
