Airline wifi and location services?

So I was wondering since airplanes now offer wifi does a smart phone's location services able to pick up on that. I believe it just uses it's sat connection as a wifi so technically you can pin a location while on a plane no? I just want to try tweeting from every country I pass through on my trip.

It depends on a few things, but if you can access the internet with wifi, you should be able to tweet in the countries you're traveling to. Depending on the country, you may have to purchase wifi cards or can access free internet at many hotels and places like coffee shops and restaurants with a password, often free with a purchase. Most airplane and wifi connections are not satellite based, but some are.

On the plane you mean? The location pin is unlikely to be correct. It'll probably be connected to where the airlines internet is registered.

You could do it manually, using that map they show on the TV - I'm in ...!
