I have a desktop PC that I am switching to WiFi , can I do this and still keep my regular PC carrier?

If I do switch to WIFI is there a secure way of keeping my signals secure as the Wifi is owned by one of my neighbors, also what is the farthest a WIFI signal will carry as we live several houses apart.? ANY suggestions or help is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED as this subject is not my forte. Please &Thanks. I need help ASAP.

Wifi signals ca stretch as far as 100m from standard wireless routers and modems without any signal repeater. The signal owned by your neighbor is beyond your control when it comes to security. Just block file sharing and install a firewall program.

    with direct LOS 500m.

    WiFi is not secure

the stronger the encryption the less bandwidth you get

if fitting a pci card to a desktop, consider a flying arial to get

the signal away from the big metal box.

the fewer walls the signal has to go through the better.

Of course you can. But, when I did it, I kept losing internet every 2 hrs. or so. So , right now, whenever I'm using the laptop, I keep the comp. in WiFi. When I'm not using the laptop, I jut keep the comp. in normal. That way, you don't lose the internet. As long as you have another thing that also uses WiFi, then you shouldn't exp. problems like the problems I exp. Hope this helps! :)

Haha I had this venture only the day beforehand of this! abruptly my laptop became off and might try this each and every 10 minutes when I became it on returned. as quickly as I opened it, no longer something appeared suspicious in any respect, it became into somewhat clean and not very dusty. besides the undeniable fact that only keeping the vacuum purifier on the brink of the CPU fan for some seconds solved the venture. You suggested you wiped clean the followers already so possibly you're able to desire to replace the thermal paste that transfers the warmth away out of your CPU or only take out the CPU + fan and clean it/them truly thoroughly sturdy success!
