Are beats products really worth the money?

All the stuff is so expensive. My friend recently bought beats headphones for $300 and that seems a bit ridiculous to me. I like the gaga ear buds, the way they look. And I was looking at an hp laptop that has beats audio...but is it really worth the extra money? Or is this stuff just so expensive because it has dr. Dres name on it along with other artists on select products?

The Beats headphones do seem to make a noticeable difference in sound quality, but I wouldn't be able to justify the price of the headphones on those grounds. I believe a lot of their pricing is in the name rather than what it does (kind of like surf/skate brand clothing).

As for the Beats Audio in the HP computers: I am writing this from my dad's HP TouchSmart and I own an HP Pavilion laptop. Both have Beats Audio, and it too makes a noticeable difference in sound quality. The difference here is that these computers cost as much as they do for different reasons.

Sure, they have beats audio in them. But they don't cost so much because of that feature. They cost so much because they are entertainment computers with top-of-the-line graphics, performance components, large RAMS and hard-drives, HD webcam, fast wireless, etc. The TouchSmart even has a huge touch screen.

The Beats may add to the price, but not by very much at all. It's like a kind of bonus thing to advertise Beats: The system in the computers works, but the computers would cost about the same even without it.

So if you're looking for a laptop, the Pavilion is still worht considering (based on your needs). But the headphones? Try Sennheiser or Skullcandy to see if you can get the same quality for a lower price... it's quite likely ;)

    Is Beats Audio Worth It

I'm sure they are decent, but any time someone famous has their name on the product, part of the marked up price is paying for the name. If you want good studio headphones, get something by Sennheiser, Shure, AKG, or any other studio quality headphones. Do some research and find the best value.

NEVER. Please do yourself a favour and do NOT buy Turtle, JH, Dr.Dre/Beats/Solo, Ludacris/Soul, Koss, Skullcandy, Lady GaGa, Skullcrushers, Monsters nor Bose, because they are ALL seriously overhyped and overpriced "fashion blingbling gimmicks" with a very poor durability and sound quality, NOTHING else (and those who try to claim they are good do NOT know ANYTHING about QUALITY anyway!), be them fake or not! If REAL quality is an issue, please go for REPUTABLE brands only such as B&W, Sennheiser (most affordable), Shure, Grado, Denon, AKG, Audio-Technica, Etymotic or Beyerdynamic. Things like Sony, JVC and Philips are ONLY "okay-ish".

    Trust your ear.

I've tried some of those headsets, and no way in hell that they're worth what they're asking for.

Go buy them from a place where you can either try them first, or able to return them if you don't like it.

Don't buy it because it's hip. Buy it because it's good.
