How to carry 8 foot livingston?

I need to be able to pick it up on its side and move it to the side of my house to keep it out of sight of potential burglars. I can get it there, but it is not easy. I tried a hand truck but that just made it harder. Any ideas?

Your composite boat will last longer if you keep it protected from direct sunlight anyway, so do what I do to haul my heaviest 18 foot kayaks around my yard when I don't have a helper to carry the other end: I use tarps, either reinforced plastic or cotton canvas, with the grommets along the edge. I wrap one under the boat, lace rope through the grommets, back and forth across the boat, then I have something to grab onto to drag it across the grass and sidewalks. The tarp protects the boat from sunlight damage and also conceals it from prying eyes.

Another tip to preserve your boat from UV damage - spray it with Scotch 303 protectant spray.
