How long does tobacco stay in your system?
I will be drug tested in the few days and one of the things they screen for is continine (a nicotine metabolite). I smoked Hookah about two-three times from the span of mid-December to two weeks ago. I don't smoke cigarettes, cigars or use tobacco in any other form except the two or three incidences of Hookah in the past several weeks. The drug test uses urine (not blood or hair). Will the results be able to detect Hookah from two weeks ago? It was shared, so I didn't smoke it all. What about second-hand smoke?
"Dumb enough to smoke"...okay. It's legal and it was BEFORE I filled out the employment application.
It's a shame when people don't have anything better to do than troll Y!Answers to get the jollies.
And by second-hand smoke, I didn't mean from my friends or Hookah. I meant secondhand cigarette smoke from being in public places, like waiting for the bus at a bus stop where plenty of people smoke and it's hard to get away from. I have no control over what people do in public places, smartass.

It will probably show up, but if was your most recent exposure, the amount will be small enough for them to know it happened 2 weeks ago instead of 2 hours before the test. They are probably more concerned about people who smoke like a chimney than they are about those who smoke a couple times a week. I'm not sure about how secondhand smoke is done but if it shows up it will likely be in much lower amounts than firsthand smoke.
A good lab and employer will know that you are not a regular smoker
